Both sides of this issue are already forming and I would imagine that our famous church of the Advantageous will be recreating their church once more. Once more this city will be thrown into a quagmire because some people do not want to have any progression and continue our stagnant way of life with Little or no future.
We have a chance of utilizing Sunrail to our favor by creating this complex that does feature gambling but other jobs surrounding it. This city constantly keeps shooting itself in the foot and not allowing progress because of an idea that we are a Mayberry RFD. The problem is that "bedroom communities" will become future ghost towns. I have seen this happen in Pennsylvania where I used to live.
If we do not find solutions to create revenue and a economy, why would our youth stick around here stagnating with the lack of foresight. This town will only get so many shots at major improvements because our neighbors are more willing to invite progress into their city limits and laugh at the fact that DeBary had the chance but the lack of testicular fortitude to try something new.
We shut down the idea of the rail, we shut down the idea of a horse track and card room that would attract more business to our city. We could not even agree upon a Dollar Store because a former Vice Mayor deemed it a "box store". Our concepts are mixed up and I see this being DeBary's last shot for getting any business that would really generate revenue. Someday we may wake up and smell the coffee but the coffee pot will be empty. I just hope that people think with their minds and just do not let the first thing that "POPs" into their heads from individuals who have their own agenda of a " The Sky is Falling" mentality.
