DeBary forms Community Events Committee
First meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17

DeBaryites who wish they could participate in their favorite recreational or hobby activity, or have a say in city-planned events, can now have their say.
The City of DeBary is inviting all interested residents and business members to come to an organizational meeting of the new Community Events Committee at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at City Council Chambers in City Hall, at 16 Colomba Road.
Committee members will help plan events, seek sponsorships and coordinate fundraising activities for the events. The committee will also assist in developing a master calendar of public events.
Council Member Chris Carson, who is a Parks and Recreation supervisor at his day job for the City of Winter Springs, suggested forming a committee to help bring more events and activities to DeBary.
"If you are interested in participating, please attend the Feb. 17th meeting," said City Manager Dan Parrott.
