Taking a shower this morning I tried to make some common sense out of the direction of the country starting with Debary. Can someone please tell me why the city is in such a tizzy about 'INTERNET cafe's that allow for gaming machines"? When I read about the war it is always how we are trying to free people so they can live free and have the freedom of choice but yet right here in Debary we are not allowing for the freedom of choice for those who like to go into those types of places. We prohibit them. Is that really being FREE??? You know like it or not (and I am picking anything) to be a free country you must allow it as long as it does not hurt YOU. It should never ever be about likes and dislikes. I wonder how many of you out there really really feel that this is still the greatest country on earth? Raise your hand!

Bob this is the first time I can agree with you. It is the individuals money, if they want to gamble, so be it. Wonder why we don't have a horse track? Same do gooder's that are now off the council.

People complain about the internet cafes but go to the Moose Lodge and VFW and gamble on their machines and play bingo. Go figger. On the way home stop and buy a lotto ticket.

DeBary isn't alone. Seminole county just banned the internet/video gambling. My favorite watering hole has had one of those machines for a long time and I just heard it's gotta go.

Stupid on the part of the city...ban all lottery, beer, cigarette and other sales which date back to the puritans, esp in salem Mass. Imagine, Cassadega would be illegal now!!! Government knows whats best!!!!
